Class Dates: Thursdays 4:00 PM - 5:30 PM January 13, 20, 27, February 3, 10 Fairview Museum of History and Art is hosting this fabulous (repeating) workshop focused on building with clay. Children 9 years and older can come and learn the basics of hand-building techniques. Each week we will focus on a different technique, pinch, coil, slab. On week 4 you will combine the techniques to create unique projects. Week 5 will be glazing and prepping for the last firing. Participants can expect to learn correct terminology and understand each stage of working with clay. We will have fun pushing ourselves and the clay in a safe and friendly environment . Project ideas will be suggested but design is left up to each participant with the freedom to be creative. Finished pieces will be available for pick-up at Cindy's home studio, one week after the final class. You are welcome to repeat the course again and again. This will allow you to build on what you learn each week and become highly effective in your creative efforts with clay. These are the foundation blocks of ceramic art and the sky is the limit in how far you can take it. Clay can be messy so dress appropriately. You will be expected to help set up and clean up your work space, be patient and kind with each other and respectful to the teacher at all times. If you have any questions please contact Cindy via email at or text 435.469.1474 These camps will repeat. I encourage you to schedule yourself for repeated camps. You will build on what they learn each week and grow your ability to effectively manipulate the clay. Working with clay requires patience and and persistence. 4 Participants required to carry the class. Maximum of 10 participants.
