Artist Bio: Christy was born and bred in East Texas, entering the world in Jacksonville but spending much of her formative years in Houston and Elkhart. During those years, her love of flowers was sparked, such that she pursued horticulture in college. After marrying and having two kids - now grown and on their own - she moved into doing commercial greenhouse plant propagation and management. Her husband, Paul, lured her away from the greenhouses and into environmental consulting with their own firm, conducting wetlands delineations and wetlands design, allowing her to take her knowledge of plants to assist clients to obtain various environmental permits. She and Paul left the hustle and bustle of Houston in 2020 and moved onto their farm just outside of Alto, where they constructed a commercial-grade greenhouse in 2024 and packed it with flowers. They recently completed a sizable workshop with a pottery studio to allow Christy to continue developing her skills. Her work with plants gave her a great appreciation for colors that set the stage for her interest in applying colors to her pottery studies, which she began last year. She is looking forward to sharing what she has learned.
