4-Day Intensive Wheel-throw Workshop

Ages 16 and older only. No exceptions 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday NO CLASS Thursday- kiln firing day 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM Friday August 24, 25, 26 and 28 Monday thru Wednesday - THROW, CREATE, MAKE Thursday - NO CLASS - work will be bisque fired in the kiln Friday - GLAZE DAY - finished pieces will be available for pick-up in 1-2 weeks Please note: The registration system will only allow you to book up to the number of AVAILABLE seats. If you can't add more participants, the class maximum has been reached. You will need to look at other dates with more availability. This class has an 8 seat capacity. Must have 4 participants for class to carry. You will be notified in advance if the class is canceled . In this fast and intensive workshop we will move quickly through the basics of wedging, centering, throwing, trimming and glazing clay. You will be working on electric pottery wheels. You will be creating simple cups, mugs, and bowls in this beginning course. Each student will be able to talk about clay in all its stages from bag to final glazed form. They will be able to make simple forms using proper techniques. They will understand the basic properties of clay and glazes. They will strive to create quality in craftsmanship. Attendance at each session is essential. There will be NO make-up sessions. Supply List: apron large towel Included: 12 hours of instruction up to 25 pounds of clay Glazes and firings Use of basic throwing tools.
